MARBLES!

Hey friends! Happy Summer!

SOMETHING BIG IS HAPPENING. I mentioned in my last post that I had a fringe project in the works. I am so pleased to announce that it is "officially" on. It's called Marbles, and it will premiere in September in the Philadelphia FringeArts Festival. I'm writing it, producing it, and also acting in it. We're describing it as: a deconstruction of the contemporary "boy-meets-girl" against the backdrop of the information age.

So now I'm gonna be a shameless starving artist, and direct your attention to our indiegogo page. Because, unfortunately, art rarely happens without some ca$h to back it. And I am very out of pocket for this one.  Please check it! Tell your friends! Help some young ambitious folks make a really cool project happen! (Also check out our facebook page.) Money aside - I am truly thrilled to be working on this show. There are more deets in the indiegogo description - I encourage you to read further. (Hint: it involves free coffee!) And check  out our promo vid to the right.

And now for some other exciting updates....

1. Safe Space. Thrilled to announce that I will be working on another fringe project, called Safe Space. It's a brand new play - directed by Maura Krause and written by Emily Acker, Emma Goidel and Doug Williams. Maura tells me: "it is an immersive house play about a group of college students from an environmental science class, who develop a LARP (live action role play game) around a global warming apocalypse scenario to win a class contest." Sounds awesome, right? Runs Sept 10-20. Deets on my homepage.

2. Shakespeare in the Park. I've been in rehearsals for Henry IV: Your Prince and Mine for the last few weeks. Basically, I'm a camp counselor for really awesome adults who agreed to be in our 100-person army scene. (i.e. I play a lieutenant.) The show runs July 30-Aug 3. And it's FREE. You don't wanna miss this shiz.

3. Best of Craigslist. (It happened! And it was a blast.) Some photos to the right. I had a lovely time meeting the fabulous folks at Simpatico, and am uber grateful for the opportunity. Devised theatre is cool and stuff.

4. I've been checking out some really fab readings lately, too. Props to Chris Davis for his new work, "Anna K." And to Emma Goidel for "A Knee That Can Bend" and Jeremy Gable for "A Greener Peace" at InterAct. Oh man. I am lucky to live in a place with so much superb new work from such superb folks. Can't wait to see what happens next with all three of these works.

Right. Daz all for now. Happy belated Independence Day, and thanks for stopping by!
