![]() This weekend, the Excelano Project is taking Cape Cod by storm. (The Excelano Project is a nationally recognized spoken word troupe, hailing from UPenn. Check us out on youtube!) We will be performing/teaching at my alma mater - Cape Cod Academy, and also doing a full-length show at the Cotuit Center for the Arts this Saturday night. ![]() still from 1961 film version of The Children's Hour As of Wednesday night - I've been cast in two mainstage shows for UPenn's Student Theatre Arts Council (TAC-e) season. I am super pleased to announce I'll be playing Karen in the Pennsylvania Player's production of The Children's Hour and Maude/Lin in iNtuitons Experimental Theatre's production of Cloud 9. More updates will follow once we begin rehearsals. Woo theatre! ![]() I'm in a picture! Online! I'm famous! But actually, check out The Apiary - an awesome lit magazine from Philly. The pic is from the launch party for their last issue, where I performed a poem of mine called "Chameleons." Warren Longmire (who founded The Excelano Project) is their performance poetry editor. While you're at it....listen to The Buzz - the Apiary's "Free Audio Guide to Philly's Best Spoken Word." "Kaleidoscope" (a poem I wrote this summer, featuring music by The Album leaf) is the opening track. This week, I had the pleasure of doing a casual shoot for one of my very best friends - the inimitable Lauren Yates. Lauren (who goes by Yates, more than Lauren) is an incredibly talented poet and performer, and a recent graduate of UPenn. We wrote together in The Excelano Project for three consecutive semesters (i.e. she patiently taught me how to write, perform and edit for three consecutive semesters). Check out her blog. And when her chapbook drops, buy that shiz.
Below are some of my favorite images from the shoot. (Location: the bio pond at the south end of Penn's campus.) ![]() This page is here for....everything else! Mostly, I'll be posting about current and upcoming projects, etc etc. It will be fun, it will be casual, it will be glorious. Please leave me thoughts, comments, ideas, what-have-you on this page! And enter your email address in that cute little box on the right to subscribe. (This means you'll get an email when I post new content. No spam, I promise.) In closing, please enjoy this Polaroid of me with a moustache, wearing Lauren Yates's glasses. |
