WHAT is Bicycle Face?
: a one-woman show, written and performed by Hannah Van Sciver, with direction by David O'Connor, and design by Sara Outing. Set in Philadelphia and framed by a feminist theory class taught in the year 2125, Bicycle Face tells the interconnected stories of three fictional women, separated by a century each, navigating the changing landscape of feminism, censorship and cycling. Bicycle Face first premiered in June, 2015 in the Philadelphia SoLow Festival. It has since toured venues throughout Philadelphia, Massachusetts, and in New Orleans in the Razor's Edge Solo Performance Festival. But really...WHAT is Bicycle Face? : back in the late 1800s, women started riding bicycles. And it was rather off-putting to society (read: men).
